Blitzboks fall short against Fiji

Cape Town - Fiji have defeated the Blitzboks 26-12 to claim the Bronze final at the Sydney Sevens.

The Blitzboks were hoping for a third placed finish in the tournament after losing in the semi-finals to Australia.

Fiji, however, had other ideas, racing into a 21-0 lead by half time through excellent handling and some silky running. Their tries were scored by Jerry Tuwai and captain, Oscar Kolinisau (2).

The Blitzboks seemed to be on for an epic fightback, scoring early in the second half through Dylan Sage and Sandile Ngcobo to cut the Fijian lead to 9 points.

The islanders were not to be denied, putting the game beyond doubt with a brilliant individual try from Savenaca Rawaca.
