Cape Town - Cecil Afrika became South Africa's highest point’s scorer on the Sevens World Series circuit when he scored a try in their victory over Wales at the Nelson Mandela Bay Sevens on Saturday evening.

The Springbok Sevens team won the day’s final game 36-0, after leading 24-0 at the break.

Afrika came into the game only two points behind Fabian Juries, who scored 925 points in his illustrious career.

Afrika scored the game’s first try as the hosts continued their fine form of late.

Western Province speedster Seabelo Senatla continued his try-scoring prowess with a hat-trick, while Kwagga Smith and Warrick Gelant also crossed the whitewash.

The win enabled South Africa to top Pool A and gave them a safe passage through to Sunday’s Cup quarter-finals, where they will face England.

Earlier on Saturday, the Blitzbokke beat America (26-0) and Kenya (38-7).
