NZ crush SA to claim series

Cape Town - New Zealand secured the HSBC Sevens World Series title after crushing South Africa in the London event's Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

Results from the London Sevens at Twickenham

The Kiwis won 36-0, after leading 19-0 at half-time.

They completely outplayed the Blitzbokke, who never looked like scoring any points.

New Zealand scored six tries via Ardie Savea (2), captain DJ Forbes (2), Tomasi Cama and Waisake Naholo.

Cama kicked three conversions.

This win means the New Zealanders have now secured their 10th Sevens World Series title, irrespective of what happens in the later matches.

They will play Fiji in the Cup semi-finals after Fiji beat hosts England 21-14 in their quarter-final.

The Blitzbokke are demoted to the Plate competition, where they will face England later on Sunday.
