Cape Town - Cheetahs centre Robert Ebersohn has again been released to help out at the South African Sevens team.

The Cheetahs also released Ebersohn this time last year and he arrived in Stellenbosch on Monday with team-mates Phillip Snyman and Kevin Luiters.

Blitzbokke coach Paul Treu was also interested in fullback Willie le Roux's services but he was not released by the central franchise as they begin their pre-season ahead of the Super Rugby competition.

"Robert will play in two tournaments (in Dubai and Port Elizabeth)," Cheetahs backline coach Hawies Fourie told the Volksblad website.

"The Blitzbokke also asked if Kevin could practice with them as he's being considered for Dubai."

Snyman last week played his last game for the Cheetahs against the EP Kings. He will now focus permanently on sevens, replacing Cornal Hendricks in the Blitzbokke set-up.

The Dubai Sevens World Series event is played from November 30-01 December, with the Port Elizabeth one on December 08-09.
