Adelaide - The Springbok Sevens powered their way into the quarterfinals without conceding a point as they downed France 38-0 in their second game of the Adelaide Sevens.
The defending IRB World Sevens series champions, who are sporting a very young looking side, were dominant from the kickoff and scored after just 12 seconds to take control of the game and never look back.
Rayno Benjamin picked up the kickoff and ran through for a brace to open the scoring, and added a second try later after a long chase of a Cecil Afrika kick through.
But the hero again for the Blitzbokke again was 19-year old Blue Bulls sensation Sampie Mastriet, who followed up his hat-trick yesterday with a brace of tries this morning to take his tally to five for the tournament.
On both occasions, Mastriet was untouched as he showed great pace to speed his way to the line.
Branco du Preez also scored a try and the rout was completed when Hoffman Maritz received the luck of the bounce from a kick from Chase Minnaar which bounced awry and perfect for him, flummoxing the French defence.
The Blitzbokke have now scored 78 points without conceding one, but have a much tougher task in their final pool showdown against Samoa, who dispatched Japan 54-5 as their superstar speedster Mikaele Pesamino scored five tries in the match, bringing his tally for the tournament to 7.
Pesamino may well have a shot at breaking the IRB World Series record of 16 tries in a tournament, currently held by Vilimoni Delasau of Fiji.
