Cape Town - The Springbok Sevens side reached the final of the Glasgow Sevens event after defeating England 24-17 in the semi-finals on Sunday.
The Blitzbokke, who led 19-5 at the break, had to hold off a stern England fightback in the second period, but a late try from Cornal Hendricks sealed the deal.
Earlier, the highly talented speedster Seabelo Senatla scored two classy long-range tries, while Chris Dry also dotted down to leave South Africa seemingly in control.
However, England fought back with tries by John Brake (2) and Dan Norton, before South Africa closed the game off at the death.
The Blitzbokke will face New Zealand in the final at 19:45 (SA time), after the All Black Sevens beat Wales 26-14 in their semi-final.
