Blitzbokke off to flying start

Cape Town - A hat-trick of tries by Free State’s new signing Cornal Hendricks boosted the Springbok Sevens team to an impressive opening 38-0 victory against Canada in their first game at this year’s Gold Coast Sevens tournament.

They scored six tries in nine visits to Canada’s 22 metre area, with Steven Hunt, Tshotsho Mbovane and Chris Dry rounding off the blitz.

In their second match, the Blitzbokke accounted for the USA 33-5.

The Blitzbokke play New Zealand in their third and final match at 11:24 SA time.
