Blitzbokke lose to Australia

Cape Town - The South African Sevens team have lost their final Pool D match against Australia at the London Sevens at Twickenham on Saturday.

The Blitzbokke lost 19-17 after trailing 12-5 at half-time.

Australia scored tries through Ed Stubbs, Con Foley and Ed Jenkins. Allan Fa'alava'au added two conversions.

The Blitzbokke replied with tries through Cornal Hendricks, Steven Hunt (2) and a conversion by Philip Burger.

Earlier in the tournament, the Blitzbokke beat Portugal 41-0 and Scotland 20-5.

The Blitzbokke will play New Zealand in the Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.
