Blitzbokke beaten by Portugal

Cape Town - The South African Sevens team have crashed to a shock defeat to Portugal in their HSBC Sevens World Series clash in Dubai on Friday.

Portugal won 12-10 after leading 7-0 at half-time.

Portugal scored tries through Pedro Leal and Aderito Esteves, while Leal also added a conversion. The Blitzbokke replied with tries by Chris Dry and Philip Snyman.

In their first match, the Blitzbokke beat England 19-10, while Portugal went down 24-19 to Samoa in their opener.

The Blitzbokke will play Samoa in their final Pool C clash at 17:44 (SA time).
