Blitzbok Hunt back in action

Cape Town - Blitzbok Steven Hunt will make his return to action over the weekend in Harare as part of the Springbok Sevens Elite Development Squad (EPD) at the annual Spar International Sevens tournament.

Hunt missed the Sevens World Series tournaments in South Africa, New Zealand and America because of an ankle injury he sustained in Dubai. He has now recovered fully to be considered for the international event at the Harare Sports Club.

The South Africans will be joined by hosts, Zimbabwe and their second team the Goshawks, Georgia, Kenya, Botswana and Zambia, as well as other South African teams the Buffaloes, Blue Bulls, Leopards and Pumas.

Apart from several SA internationals, the squad also include promising prospects such as Brandon Asherwood, Werner Kok and WJ Strydom.

Last year, the SA Sevens Academy team lost in a thrilling Cup final against home side Zimbabwe.

The Springbok Sevens Elite Player Development squad for Harare:

Bernado Botha, Philip Snyman, Jamba Ulengo, Werner Kok, Pieter Engelbrecht, Jason Kriel, Brandon Asherwood, WJ Strydom, Seabelo Senatla, Tshotsho Mbovane, Steven Hunt.
