London - South Africans Justin Melck, Derick Hougaard and Mouritz Botha are among 10 Saracens players who extended their contracts with the club on Tuesday.
"This has been an unbelievably frustrating year for me, with my Achilles tendon injury at Wembley in October being followed by three operations, Hougaard told the Saracens website.
"However, I'm now on my way back to full fitness, and I am pleased to have agreed a new contract with Saracens. Now I can't wait to get back into the black jersey and repay the special support I have received from the club."
Former Stormers loose forward Melck is excited about his extension, saying: "The philosophy at Saracens is simple – get talented people together, treat them unbelievably and they will work unbelievably hard in return. This approach is unusual, special and refreshing in professional sport – it is the complete antithesis of the 'treat them mean to keep them keen' mentality, and it explains why I have signed again."
The English-qualified lock \Botha said: "Two years ago I was working in Bedford, thinking my chance of playing rugby at the highest level had gone. Then I was given the opportunity to play for Saracens and, with a lot of hard work and loads of help and good advice, everything has gone well. I have now signed a new contract, and I could not be more excited about the future.
"I don't care how many times it's been said because it's true... there is something special happening at Saracens and, like everybody else connected with the club, I'm very happy to be part of it."
