SARU welcomes new sponsor

Cape Town - Europcar South Africa has joined the South African Rugby Union (SARU) sponsors’ family as the official car rental supplier to SARU, its national squads and national teams, it was announced on Tuesday.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to be associated with the Springboks,” said Dawn Nathan-Jones, CEO of Europcar SA.

“We aim to keep our brand continually evolving and this is a natural progression from our sponsorship of the HSBC Sevens World Series tournament.

“We’re also a Proudly South African company and we see the Springboks as the pinnacle of South African sport. The Springboks represent everything South African and creates a spirit that brings our country together.”

The good fit between Europcar and SARU goes beyond happy coincidences, such as sharing green as a core corporate colour, or the mutual benefits of Europcar enabling transport logistics wherever needed for SARU, through 120 locations throughout Southern Africa.

Jurie Roux, CEO of SARU, said it was exciting to extend the national governing body’s relationship with Europcar.

“We’ve been working together with Europcar on the Sevens in Port Elizabeth for a while now and their passion for the game of rugby has always been evident,” said Roux.

“To see them getting involved on a broader spectrum is fantastic and I’m very happy to see Europcar join our group of very dedicated Official Suppliers.”

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Europcar because in our different fields, SARU and Europcar have similar mindsets and strategies. Like them, we’re continually evolving our brand and our game.

“Their passion for delivering effortless service can allow us to remain focused on our jobs without distractions - in the zone. It’s a winning combination.”

The new partnership will be in action at June's Incoming Series, when the Springboks host Italy, Samoa and Scotland in a unique quadrangular tournament in Durban, Nelspruit and Pretoria.
