Johannesburg - South African broadcaster SuperSport says it is ready to break new ground in the country with its coverage of next month's Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
"The tournament will be the most technologically advanced and SuperSport will harness the latest developments to ensure a world class viewing experience," the broadcaster said in a statement on Monday.
All 48 matches will be shown live and in high definition on the pay network.
The SuperSport commentary team in New Zealand will include former Springbok players Kobus Wiese, Bob Skinstad and Owen Nkumane, as well as former All Black captain Taine Randell and a handful of specialists.
Studio guests in South Africa and New Zealand will include former All Blacks Justin Marshall and Ian Jones, and former Springboks Naas Botha, Joel Stransky and Breyton Paulse, as well as Lions coach John Mitchell and a host of other former stars.
Two channels, including one on high definition, will give coverage of the tournament 24 hours a day, and all commentary will be available in English and Afrikaans, with selected commentary in Xhosa.
