Cape Town – Thursday saw no action from the rugby World Cup, giving rugby lovers some breathing room before the final onslaught of matches in the pool phase.
However, some found more rest time as others as Springbok captain, John Smit (@JohnSmit123) shared his free time experiences. Smit found time to find out what the ‘Twilight’ craze was all about.
“(Sic) I just had an hour and a half of my life stolen by watching the new movie Abduction, horrific! That dude needs to stick to being a werewolf!”
Meanwhile, a Samoan student living in New Zealand, Jone Puamau (@JPuamau) quipped that a few island nations may be playing for a bit more than pride.
“(Sic) Best quote @ fiji v samoa game... Lets go samoa, play like your visa depends on it.@neemiatialata”
Other honourable mentions came from South African rugby website editor, Gareth Rosslee (@GarethRosslee)
"(Sic) The funniest thing about it was the one time they pulled the switcharoo was right in front of the sticks. Morne could kick a cabbage over,” tweeted Rosslee in reference to the banning of English coaches switching the rugby match ball for penalty kicks and conversions during the World Cup.
Today’s Picture of the Day shows a clever play on words spotted in an ad from Pick n Pay and alludes to how hungry the Boks are for the match, if there was any doubt.
