Tweet and Picture of the Day

Cape Town - Midweek action saw a first ever all-eastern European Rugby World Cup clash as Georgia beat Romania.

A rugby journalist noted another first for RWC history in today’s Tweet of the Day while the Picture of the Day is a reminder of the love New Zealand locals have for one of their lost sons.

ESPNScrum’s Graham Jenkins (@GrahamESPNscrum) noted a strange occurrence between both sets of fans in the RWC battle between Georgia and Romania where they wore colour-coded buckets on their heads akin to soldiers in the middle ages.

“(Sic) Got to love the bucketheads at manawatu #colourcoded #rwc”

Meanwhile in the South African camp, Springbok kicking coach, Percy Montgomery(@monty15monty) chose to go one up on his former team-mate Bob Skinstad, who went bungee-jumping a few days earlier, by seeking an adrenaline rush of a ‘higher’ variety.

“(Sic) Went skydiving today what an amazing day , did 2 jumps at 15 000 ft awesome. Flying to Auckland in morning with team have a great day ,” tweeted Montgomery.

Today’s Picture of the Day comes from Wallaby wing, Drew Mitchell as the team arrived in Nelson ahead of their match with Russia:

“(Sic) We had a really nice warm welcome to Nelson.. But there's always one in the crowd.. #didntgetthememo”
