Boks have RWC shot - Jones

Johannesburg - Despite seeing the Boks finish last in the Tri-Nations, former Australian coach Eddie Jones still believes the team has what it takes to win the World Cup.

Speaking from Jake White’s RugbyXV website, Jones said that the Boks ending their Tri-Nations on a positive note against the All Blacks would aid them in their World Cup campaign.

“They'll take confidence from the win, and will rely on their combative style using field position through kicking. In the opposition half they'll hang on to the ball and will be physical,” Jones said.

Jones said that the most important thing for the Springboks was getting cohesion between forwards and backs.

“It's a question of getting their backs' style coherent with the forwards' style.”

Jones also indicated that the Boks had chosen the right time to peak.

“They've got a few guys coming back into form, and have a shot, at least, of winning the World Cup,” said Jones.
