Cape Town - Despite being ruled out of the Springboks' away leg of the Tri-Nations, Victor Matfield and Fourie du Preez have gone hunting.
Matfield, who will miss the tour to Australasia after being sidelined with calf and neck injuries following a series of medical assessments, posed for a picture on Twitter alongside team-mate Du Preez, while standing over a zebra they had shot and killed.
Du Preez, who will further his career in Japan following the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, was also ruled out of the Boks' Test against Australia in Sydney on July 23 and in Wellington against the All Blacks on July 30, with a neck injury, according to team doctor Craig Roberts.
Springbok coach Peter de Villiers's decision to field a weakened team for the Boks' opening two matches of this year's Tri-Nations has drawn widespread criticism, despite his actions mirroring those of former national coach Jake White who also selected a 'B' team in the 2007 Tri-Nations, before going on to win the Webb Ellis Cup later that year.
