Honoured Habana says thanks

Cape Town - New Springbok record try scorer Bryan Habana has thanked his team-mates and coaches after finally breaking Joost van der Westhuizen's record.

Habana, who had been tied with Van der Westhuizen on 38 tries in the Green and Gold since scoring against Italy in Witbank in June 2010, broke the record when he touched down in the first half of the Boks' 87-0 romp against Namibia at the North Harbour Stadium on Thursday.

Habana's 39th try came in his 72nd Test.

Habana wrote on Twitter: To all my team-mates, coaches, friends, family & supporters who hav been there in the last 8yrs... It's been an honour & privilege!!! Thanx!

To be blessed with such an amazing talent one has to be grateful!! Job not quite done though!!! Hav a gr8 eve/day every1!!

Habana will be out to extend his record when the Boks face Samoa on Friday, September 30.
