Fake Bok shirts confiscated

Johannesburg - Hawkers fled as Metro police confiscated fake 145 Springbok t-shirts, 22 caps and 127 Springbok flags during a raid in Boksburg on Wednesday, Ekurhuleni Metro Police reported on Thursday.

The raid took place at the intersections of North Rand and Rietfontein roads as well as North Rand and Elizabeth roads, spokesperson Wilfred Kgasago said.

"The hawkers showed the police a clean pair of heels when approached and abandoned their counterfeit goods," he said.

Ekurhuleni Metro Police worked together with South African rugby and signet officials.

"All the items confiscated were handed over to the officials and, in addition, 115 fake DVDs were also confiscated," Kgasago said.
