Div: Bakkies only injury worry

Cape Town - Springbok coach Peter de Villiers said on Tuesday that he had only one injury concern for the opening match of the Rugby World Cup against Wales in Wellington on Sunday.

Lock Bakkies Botha is undergoing on-going rehabilitation for chronic tendonosis of the Achilles and sat out training at Rugby League Park on Tuesday.

De Villiers said the condition would be managed before a decision on his availability for Sunday’s Pool D opener was made.

Earlier it was reported in the Beeld newspaper that Botha along with lock partner, Victor Matfield would not be fit in time for the vital clash in the so-called 'cake tin'.

Meanwhile Frans Steyn and Pat Lambie took a full part in training once again without any reaction to the injuries they suffered in the 18-5 victory over New Zealand in Port Elizabeth last month.
