Daggers out for Cooper

Cape Town - Australian flyhalf Quade Cooper may have to tone it down after all after the Wallabies loss to Ireland on Saturday.

Cooper has repeatedly expressed his desire to win the RWC in his native New Zealand and with his ever so lackadaisical approach to media suggestions fuelling the feud between him and All Black captain, Richie McCaw, he doesn’t mind adopting the role of pantomime villain.

However, Cooper will be forced to have his play to do the talking as no team has ever gone onto win the Webb Ellis Cup after losing a match during the pool stages in the tournament.

It has emerged out of New Zealand newspaper, New Zealand Herald’s website that former All Black, Stu Wilson is fed up with Cooper and his antics and in the process calling current All Black captain McCaw a ‘prized jewel’.

"Anyone that touches the prize jewel in rugby - which at the moment is Richie McCaw - you start pissing around like Quade Cooper has done and you have to accept the consequences in this country."

Cooper was booed throughout the defeat to the Irish and even if he accepts the treatment, he has evidently not found a way to harness his sharp tongue in an effort to limit the damage the rugby public may cause to him and his team’s image.

“If he doesn't know that, and the Australian Rugby Union doesn't know that, they are dumber than I thought they were. The only person who has come out [against Cooper] is Nick Farr-Jones - and he is a World Cup-winning captain for Australia,” lamented Wilson

Cooper’s positive take on Farr-Jones labelling him a ‘boofhead’ did not resonate with the former All Black captain.

“You just don't piss with the crown jewel. Not over here, not in our back yard!”
