Bookies give France no chance

Cape Town - If the bookies are to be believed, France, at odds of 7/1, have little to no chance of beating hosts New Zealand in the Rugby World Cup final on Sunday.

Marc Lievremont’s men have been inconsistent throughout the entire tournament, but in the knockout stages they have managed to grind out victories over England (19-12 in the quarter-finals) and Wales (9-8 in the semi-final) and will have nothing to lose when they face an All Blacks side under extreme pressure to win their second World Cup title after their first win on home soil back in 1987.

Graham Henry’s men are 1/10 to end their 24-year wait for the biggest prize in rugby and will be extremely confident that they can deliver to their home fans what they have been craving for so long.

Other notable bets:

Highest scoring half – first half 9/10, second half 8/10
Team to score first – France 15/10, New Zealand 53/100
