Cape Town - Fullback Ben Smith says he doesn't want to be rested for New Zealand's final Rugby Championship Test against South Africa on Saturday.
Smith has played every minute of every Test this year and only missed two games of Super Rugby for the Highlanders. Despite the heavy workload Smith insists he's mentally and physically ready to take on the Springboks in Durban.
"I'm feeling good and the body is all in one piece," Smith told Radio Sport. "I hope I play, but that's not up to me, that's up to the coaches."
Smith said the tournament structure whereby teams play two Tests and then have a week off works well for most of the players. New Zealand have an opportunity to match their own world record of most consecutive Test wins in a row (17) when they meet the Springboks this weekend and Smith admitted that is what motivates them the most.
"We know how big the challenge is to play in Argentina and then South Africa, and I think that's what excites the team."
