Cape Town - Wallabies fullback Israel Folau has sparked controversy by revealing he will not support the push for same-sex marriage.
Folau, a devout Christian, took to Twitter on Wednesday to share his views: "I love and respect all people for who they are and their opinions. but personally, I will not support gay marriage."
It comes after numerous sporting organisations - including the Australian Rugby Union - declared their support for a 'yes' vote in the government's postal survey.
Folau is the fiancé of star Silver Ferns shooter Maria Tutaia and has played 58 Tests for Australia since 2013.

Folau's tweet subsequently sparked a social media storm.
Sad to hear you state this mate. Human rights aren't an opinion.

Have lost respect for you today. Everyone gay straight, black white should have the right to marry who they love. #loveislove

That is your decision and you are entitled to it. Much respect for publicly stating something so personal. Champion!
