Meyer happy with Oupa's effort

Cape Town - Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer says he was pleased with the performance of flank Teboho "Oupa" Mohoje against Australia at Newlands.

As it happened: SA v Australia

VIDEO: Oupa Mohoje speaks out

Mohoje, 24, started a Test for the first time after making his debut off the bench against Scotland earlier this year.

Mohoje was replaced in the 55th minute by Schalk Burger, who made a massive contribution as the Boks ran out 28-10 winners.

But the Bok coach was pleased with the efforts of Mohoje, who cleaned out 27 rucks while the Boks were on the attack, carried the ball five times and made 12 tackles.

"It was nice to see Oupa receive a warm round of applause from the crowd when he went off. It showed he played well and made his country proud," he told Die Burger.

Mohoje's selection in the starting team week was seen as a token one in several sections of the media after the Boks had been under transformation pressure for several weeks.

The Boks now shift their attention to the All Blacks, who they tackle at Ellis Park this Saturday.
