Auckland - Reds flank Liam Gill has been handed a chance to earn his debut cap for Australia after being named on the Wallabies bench for Saturday's second Bledisloe Cup Test against New Zealand.
Gill fills the reserve spot vacated by Michael Hooper, who was promoted to the starting line-up to replace the injured David Pocock.
Wallabies selectors also opted to include hooker Saia Fainga'a on the bench to replace Tatafu Polota-Nau, who was a late scratching from the match due to severe bruising.
The Wallabies held off naming their reserves for the match in Auckland until Friday to assess the injury situation.
