Fleck: Habana fine at 14

Cape Town - Western Province backline coach Robbie Fleck doesn’t foresee any problems for Bryan Habana playing at right wing for the Springboks.

Habana, normally a left wing, was earlier this week included at No 14 for the first Rugby Championship Test against Argentina at Newlands on Saturday. Sharks flyer Lwazi Mvovo will wear Habana's normal No 11 jersey on the left wing, with regular right winger JP Pietersen out injured.

But Fleck says the shift shouldn't bother Habana in the slightest.

"Brian is a guy who adapts easily. For example, he has played at wing and outside centre for us this year," he told Die Burger.

"He has the ability to shove defenders off with both hands. He also kicks with his right foot, which could help a lot. When he's on the left wing he has to kick with the inside of his foot - so the situation could actually be advantageous."

The Test at Newlands kicks off at 17:00 on Saturday.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
