Cape Town - Brain and not brawn will be key for the Springboks if they are to beat the All Blacks at Ellis Park on Saturday, coach Heyneke Meyer says.

Meyer told Beeld that even though he wants his team to display aggression, it is of utmost importance that they are clever and disciplined.

"We won't be able to beat the All Blacks by thinking we can bully them into submission. Gone are the days that Springbok teams can dominate throughout with their forwards and physically overpower teams. The other countries have caught up with us when it comes to physical power."

Meyer on Wednesday announced only one change to the team that beat Australia 28-10 at Newlands last weekend.

Bismarck du Plessis replaces Adriaan Strauss at hooker, while No 8 Duane Vermeulen will be given as much time as possible to recover from a rib cartilage injury. If he doesn’t recover in time to face New Zealand, Schalk Burger will start in the No 8 jersey with Warren Whiteley coming onto the bench.

Kick-off for Saturday's Rugby Championship clash at Ellis Park is scheduled to start at 17:05.
