Kockott extends French stay

Castres - South African scrumhalf Rory Kockott, who was originally drafted in by French Top 14 side Castres as injury cover, was handed a deal until the end of the French season on Thursday.

Kockott has filled in for the injured Thierry Lacrampe, but was due to leave the league leaders at the end of October.

"I am very happy and enthusiastic," said the 25-year-old, who was signed from the Lions in the (European) close season. Kockott previously represented the Sharks, before a brief stint with the Lions earlier this year.

Kockott has played seven matches for Castres and scored 33 points, with 24 of those coming in last Friday's 24-3 win over champions Toulouse.
