Durban - One of South Africa’s most promising referees, Stuart Berry, was injured in a car accident in Durban on Friday.
According to the supersport.com website, Berry was on his way to the airport when he was involved in a head-on collision with a small truck, but escaped major injury in the accident.
He did, however, break his arm and have several lacerations that required minor surgery at the Umhlanga Hospital and will be kept overnight for observation.
Berry was a regular on the IRB Sevens circuit this year, and has refereed several Currie Cup and Super Rugby games in his time. He has been touted as a future Test referee.
