Cheetahs outsmart Ospreys in Bloem

Cape Town - The Cheetahs have won their third consecutive game as they defeated Ospreys with a bonus point win in their PRO14 encounter at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on Friday evening.

The Cheetahs won 44-25, after leading 22-17 at half-time.

The home side ran in six tries through Paul Schoeman, Francois Venter, a brace from Makazole Mapimpi and Torsten Van Jaarsveld.

Ernst Stapelberg landed three conversions and two penalties, while replacement William Small-Smith converted the final try.

The Welsh club scored three tries through Kieron Fonotia, Rhys Webb and Dan Evans.

Meanwhile, Dan Biggar landed two conversions and two penalties for the visitors.

This win has moved the Cheetahs to second on the Conference A standings with 15 points, while Ospreys have dropped to the bottom of the standings with 5 points.

In Round 6 of the PRO14 action, the Cheetahs will host Conference A table-toppers Glasgow Warriors in Bloemfontein on Friday, while Ospreys will fly back to Wales to take on the Scarlets in their own backyard on Saturday.

The Southern Kings now take on the Newport Gwent Dragons in Rodney Parade in Wales on Saturday (20:35 SA time).
