McCalman extends Aussie stay

Sydney - Wallabies backrower Ben McCalman has re-signed with the Australian Rugby Union and Super Rugby side Force for another year.

McCalman, who will sit out Saturday's second Test against Wales with a left shoulder injury, made his debut for Australia in 2010 and has represented the Wallabies in 21 matches.

By renewing his ARU contract, the 24-year-old McCalman will be eligible for next year's British and Irish Lions tour. "Playing against the Lions is definitely a goal," he said.

Australia's medical team expect McCalman will be available for August's opening match of the inaugural Rugby Championship against Argentina, South Africa, New Zealand and South Africa.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
