Bloemfontein - The future of Springbok Sevens player Lionel Mapoe appears to have been resolved.
According to Owen Kock of the OFM website, Mapoe will further his career in Johannesburg with the Lions next season, which was confirmed by a "trustworthy source" within the Lions Union.
Mapoe has been involved in a tug-of-war contractual dispute between the Cheetahs and Sharks over the past few months.
The Cheetahs maintained they had a binding contract with Mapoe, which was confirmed by the High Court in Bloemfontein.
However, despite this, Mapoe refused to practice with the Cheetahs.
The Free State Rugby Union could not be reached for comment.
