Male named new Fiji coach

Suva - Fiji have appointed former international Inoke Male as their new head coach.

Male replaces Sam Domoni, who was sacked following the country's poor display at last year's Rugby World Cup.

The 48-year-old has signed a four-year contract that will see him through to the 2015 World Cup in England, according to the Fijian federation.

The No 8 was capped 15 times by Fiji between 1998 and 2001 and served as the national team's assistant coach from 2009 to 2010.

Ranked 16th in the world, Fiji were eliminated in the first round of the 2011 World Cup after picking up just one victory, a 49-25 triumph over Namibia, while suffering three lopsided defeats against Samoa (27-7), South Africa (49-3) and Wales (66-0).
