London - England wing Christian Wade was on Saturday called up to the British and Irish Lions squad as cover for injured players.
The 22-year-old - capped just twice by England - had been due to play in England's second Test with Argentina later on Saturday in Buenos Aires.
However, Wade - who was part of the England team that beat the Pumas in last weekend's first Test - will now miss the game, he is replaced by new cap Jonny May, and will join up with the Lions squad in Sydney on Monday morning.
British and Irish Lions Head Coach Warren Gatland said that with several key backs undergoing treatment he felt he needed cover.
"We have obviously got ongoing treatment of some players so it's prudent to make sure we have enough backline cover," said Gatland.
"Christian played well in the first Test against Argentina and is match fit."
The Lions - who beat the NSW Waratahs earlier on Saturday to retain their unbeaten record on tour so far - play the Wallabies in their first Test next Saturday.
