Melbourne - Melbourne Rebels wing Lachlan Mitchell has failed in his appeal against a one-match suspension for lifting British and Irish Lions wing Simon Zebo.
Mitchell was found guilty of lifting Zebo in the Lions' 35-0 win over the Rebels on June 25.
The Rebels and the Australian Rugby Union said on Monday that Justice Lex Mpati of South Africa, who heard the appeal by video conference on July 3, upheld the original finding.
Mitchell will serve the one-match ban in the final Rebels match of the season Friday against the Highlanders in Melbourne.
