Perth - The British and Irish Lions have started their Australian tour with a bang after crushing the Force 69-17 on Wednesday.

The Lions, who led 27-3 at half-time, ran in nine tries with Ireland centre and match-day captain Brian O'Driscoll scoring a brace.

Fullback Leigh Halfpenny was flawless from the kicking tee, converting all nine tries and two penalties for a personal haul of 24 points.
