Cape Town - The Southern Kings have signed three more prominent players as they aim to bolster their squad ahead of next year's Super Rugby competition.

According to EWN Sport, the Port Elizabeth-based team on Wednesday added Lions hooker Bandise Maku, Argentina scrumhalf Nicolas Vergallo and Blues back Hadleigh Parkes to their ranks.

Kings president Cheeky Watson said the trio will add huge value to the team.

"They bring wonderful experience, Bandise's (Maku) played at the highest level and his coming back home.

"Vergallo, we've seen him play for Argentina so I think he'll add tremendous value to the Kings. Hadleigh Parkes has played for the Blues (in Super Rugby) which will also add much value to the Kings," said Watson.

Other recent signings from the Kings, who will play Super Rugby next year at the expense of the Lions, include WP flyhalf Demetri Catrakilis, Cheetahs centre Andries Strauss and Sharks lock Steven Sykes.
