Jaque, Fourie on fire in Japan

Cape Town - Springboks Jaque Fourie and Fourie du Preez are currently on top form for their respective clubs in Japan's premier rugby competition.

Fourie is set to become one of the best paid players in Japan when he takes up his contract with the Kobe Kobelco Steelers, and according to the Beeld newspaper the former Stormers centre is already proving his worth with current club, the Panasonic Wild Knights.

Fourie scored two tries in his side's 52-21 win over NTT Communications Shining Arcs, the team former Bulls centre JP Nel plays for.

Fourie recently secured a two-year contract with the Steelers. He is current playing for the Knights on a short-term contract.

His two-year contract with the Steelers is apparently worth R20 million which won't see him return to Cape Town to play for the Stormers next year.

Meanwhile, former Bulls scrumhalf, Du Preez, is apparently also on fire for Suntory Goliath who are the only unbeaten team in the league.

Du Preez's fellow team-mate at the Bulls and the Boks, Danie Rossouw, also plays for Suntory Goliath.

"Fourie (Du Preez) is currently playing very good rugby," said the Lions' former American flanker and now team-mate at Suntory, Todd Clever.
