Toulon - Former Wales centre Gavin Henson has been sacked by Toulon for breaking the club's disciplinary rules, L'Equipe newspaper reported on Tuesday, jeopardising his Rugby World Cup ambition.
Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal wouldn't confirm the news, saying he "will speak later this week."
Henson was involved in a fight with a team-mate only hours after Toulon's win over Top 14 leader Toulouse on April 17. Two days later, he was suspended for a week by the club, missing last weekend's league match against Perpignan, and pending a meeting on his future this week with Boudjellal and coach Philippe Saint-Andre.
Henson moved from Saracens to Toulon in February to the end of the season, and hoped to earn a two-year contract extension.
But his main goal was to make Wales' squad for his first World Cup in New Zealand in September.
A big part of Wales' 2005 and 2008 Six Nations Grand Slam success, Henson quit rugby for 19 months until this season.
He started only three games, two for Toulon, but his capacity to self-destruct caught up with him again.
He was suspended by Ospreys for two matches in 2008 for missing training, and had numerous incidents of drunken behaviour.
