London - Gavin Henson has been summoned to appear at a Wales Rugby Union meeting following the player's bust-up at Toulon which left him facing an uncertain future at the club, it was confirmed Tuesday.
Henson was suspended by Toulon for one week following reports of a drunken altercation with several team-mates of the Top 14 outfit, whom the Welsh centre joined in February in a bid to revitalise his flagging career.
Toulon would not confirm what action they planned to take against Henson on Tuesday but the WRU said in a statement they were arranging a meeting with the player and fellow international Andy Powell over a separate disciplinary issue.
"Following recent reported incidents, WRU Group Chief Executive Roger Lewis and Wales head coach Warren Gatland have requested meetings with Gavin Henson and Andy Powell over the course of the coming weeks," the WRU said.
"Until those meetings take place there will be no further comment from the WRU," the statement added.
Henson, 29, joined Toulon on a short-term deal hoping to impress coach Philippe Saint-Andre and aiming to force his way into the Wales squad for this year's World Cup.
Powell was suspended by his club Wasps last week after allegedly getting involved in a pub brawl in London.
