Cape Town - European champions Toulon have Springbok hooker Bismarck du Plessis firmly in their sights, a French media report indicates.
According to the Midi Olympique newspaper, the French giants have put forward an enticing offer to lure Du Plessis to France.
Toulon, who also have South Africans Bakkies Botha, Danie Rossouw and Joe van Niekerk on their books, have reportedly targeted Du Plessis for over a year now.
Du Plessis' contract at the Sharks expires this year and he is yet to indicate where he will further his career. He made his long-awaited return from a knee injury when the Springboks beat Scotland 30-17 in Nelspruit over the weekend.
Toulon became European champions last month when they won the Heineken Cup, beating fellow French side Clermont Auvergne 16-15 in Dublin.
They also reached the French Top 14 final, but were upset by 19-14 by Castres in Paris.
