Free State prop off to the UK

London - Free State Cheetahs prop Nick Schonert has signed for Worcester, the English Premiership club announced on Tuesday.

"I am delighted that Nick has decided to move to Warriors," Worcester rugby director Dean Ryan told the club's official website.

"Nick is the sort of player who will add to this club and he has the potential to be an outstanding Premiership player, so we are looking forward to welcoming him to Sixways."

The 22-year-old, a member of South Africa's junior world championship team in 2011, will move to Worcester from Bloemfontein prior to the beginning of the next European season.

Schonert currently plays for Free State's Vodacom Cup side. He played Currie Cup rugby for Griquas last year and before that represented the Sharks.
