Force sign Hurricanes back

Sydney - Former Hurricanes inside back Jayden Hayward has signed with Australia's Force for the next two Super Rugby seasons, the club said on Monday.

Hayward, 25, is the third overseas player to sign with the Force under new coach Michael Foley and joins former South African Under-20 flyhalf Sias Ebersohn and former All Black scrumhalf Alby Mathewson.

"Jayden's been a frontline centre for Taranaki in (New Zealand's) ITM Cup over a number of years and is a young player determined for regular game time in Super Rugby," Foley said.

"He's a player that provides versatility in the centres," he said, adding his first instinct "is to use the football".

Hayward has represented both the Highlanders and Hurricanes at Super Rugby level.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
