Fijian rugby player dies

Périgueux - Fiji's 2009 French championship winning wing Samueli Naulu was killed in a car crash on Saturday, local police and his club confirmed.

According to the police the 31-year-old, who was playing for fifth division side Bergerac, lost control of his car at around 05:00 (GMT) and hit a tree some 20km south of Bergerac.

Naulu, who played for Fiji's Under-21 side, was switched to the wing from flanker on arriving at Perpignan in 2005 and was an impressive performer in their title winning season.

However, he left for Limoges a year later and after just a season there moved onto Bergerac.
