Fiji to face Barbarians

Suva - Fiji will face the Barbarians at Twickenham on November 30 and officials hope to stage Tests with France, Wales and Russia during their end-of-year European tour, the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) announced.

FRU chief executive Manasa Baravilala said the Barbarians match would be only the second time Fiji has played the invitational team, with the first meeting in 1970 resulting in a upset 29-9 win for the Pacific islanders.

"The year 2013 marks the centenary of the game in our country and we are honoured to be invited to celebrate this landmark with another game against the famous Barbarians," he said.

"Our great victory 40-odd years ago was a major stepping stone in enhancing Fiji's profile."

He said negotiations were still underway to play Tests against France, Wales and Russia.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
