Marseille - Former Australian international prop Salesi Ma'afu faces jail after French prosecutors on Tuesday requested an eight-month prison sentence and a €1 500 fine for an alleged assault.
The 32-year-old Toulon player, capped 14 times, is believed to have been involved in a heated argument over a parking place on August 16 and to have hit someone who attempted to intervene.
Ma'afu has not sparkled in pre-season friendlies since he joined the three-time European champions from English side Northampton, and only came on for the last half hour of the opening day defeat to Racing-Metro.
The case was adjourned until November 10.
