Cape Town - Scottish club Edinburgh have signed Pumas flyhalf Carl Bezuidenhout on an extended trial until the end of the European season.
Bezuidenhout, 27, helped the Pumas secure the 2013 First Division title and win their Currie Cup status back by defeating Griquas.
Edinburgh announced on their official website that Bezuidenhout began training with the squad on Monday.
Edinburgh coach, Alan Solomons, welcomed the new signing.
“Carl has performed really well for the Pumas and played a pivotal role in their Currie Cup success this year.
“His game management is very good, he’s got a good boot out of hand and for goal, and is very athletic.
“He now has an excellent opportunity to show us what he is capable of, while also solving an immediate issue in that we are desperately short of flyhalves."
Bezuidenhout previously represented the Sharks (2006-08) and EP Kings (2009) before joining the Pumas in 2010.
