Daniller back to lead Maties

Cape Town - Loose forward Tertius Daniller has returned from Free State to captain Maties in this year's Varsity Cup.

Daniller, 24, was contracted to Free State for the 2013 season and was also loaned to the Griffons during last year's Currie Cup First Division.

Maties on Thursday announced that Daniller will skipper them in 2014. He played for Maties and Western Province before heading to Free State last year.

He is the brother of Cheetahs fullback, Hennie.
