Dan Carter to be a father

Cape Town - All Blacks flyhalf Dan Carter and his wife Honor are expecting their first child.

Honor Carter confirmed the news on Twitter, writing: Time to share our exciting news... @DanCarter & I are expecting our first child! I am 21 weeks & we are both very excited :) #BabyCarter

And then added: Thank you for all your wonderful messages! Your tweets bring us much love & happiness.. thank you for being so amazing & kind #veryhumbled x

Carter, who has recovered from a calf injury and will start for the All Blacks in their final end of year Test against England at Twickenham on Saturday (kick-off 16:30 SA time) and Honor, a former New Zealand hockey international who describes herself on her Twitter page as the "way better half of some All Black", married in December 2011.
